Blake Photo & Film Co. began with a single camera, a dream, and a deep love for capturing the sacred and fleeting moments that make up a wedding day. I’m Brittany Blake, founder, lead photographer, and the creative heart behind everything we do. Based in Virginia, we serve couples locally and across the globe, documenting love stories with a signature style that’s honest, documentary-styled, and deeply emotive.
Before launching Blake Photo & Film Co., I spent years studying photography at a local college in Norfolk, Virginia, where I dove deep into the art and technical side of the craft. From the history of photography to hands-on experience with lighting, digital editing, and film development, that foundation shaped the way I approach storytelling today—with intention, artistry, and a love for both modern and nostalgic mediums. It’s also where my passion for film photography and Super 8 videography first began.
At my core, I believe in intentional storytelling. With a passion rooted in storytelling, I use a blend of digital photography, nostalgic 35mm film, and timeless Super 8 to preserve not just how your day looked — but how it felt. I’m drawn to the quiet, in-between moments—the hand squeezes, the teary-eyed vows, the unfiltered joy. The warmth in your grandmother’s eyes. The quiver in your voice during your vows. The quiet comfort in the way your hands meet during still moments. believe that your photos shouldn’t just look beautiful—they should feel like you. With my background in both digital and film formats, I craft wedding galleries that feel rich, raw, and timeless—meant to be passed down for generations.
My purpose is to witness and document the honest, beautiful, unscripted parts of your story — so you can remember them for a lifetime.
But beyond the art, my mission is rooted in connection, trust, and care. As a photographer, wife, and mom, I understand the weight and beauty of preserving life’s most meaningful memories. That’s why I pour my heart into every single gallery—because your love story deserves nothing less.
